Inviting and Managing Team Members

2 min read·2 views·100% found this helpful

Everyone who uses G8KEPR does so as a member of your organization. From the Team page you can invite new people, control what each person can access with roles, and remove members when they leave.

Before you start

Only members with an Owner or Admin role can invite or remove people or change roles. If you don't see the invite controls, ask an Owner in your organization to grant you access.

Team management lives in the dashboard under Team. From there you'll see your current members, their roles, and any pending invitations.

Invite a member

  1. 1.Go to Dashboard → Team.
  2. 2.Select Invite member.
  3. 3.Enter the person's work email address.
  4. 4.Choose a role (see below).
  5. 5.Send the invitation.

The invitee receives an email with a link to join. Until they accept, they appear in your team list as Pending. You can resend or revoke a pending invite at any time from the same list.

Invitations are tied to the email address you enter. If someone signs up with a different address, their account won't be linked to your organization — send the invite to the exact address they'll sign in with.

Assign roles

Roles determine what a member can see and do. Assign the least access a person needs to do their job:

  • Owner — full control, including billing and deleting the organization.
  • Admin — manage members, roles, and organization settings.
  • Member — day-to-day use of detectors, gateways, and dashboards.
  • Viewer — read-only access to dashboards and reports.

To change a role later, open the member's row on the Team page and select a new role. Changes take effect the next time the member's session refreshes.

Team changes such as invites, role updates, and removals are tracked, so you generally have a record of who changed what and when.

Remove a member

  1. 1.On the Dashboard → Team page, find the member you want to remove.
  2. 2.Open their row and select Remove.
  3. 3.Confirm.

The member loses access to your organization's data and dashboards. As a precaution, rotate any shared credentials the member had access to.

You can't remove the last remaining Owner. Assign the Owner role to someone else first, then remove the original account.
