Reading your usage meters and limits

2 min read·2 views·100% found this helpful

Your billing page shows three usage meters that track your account against your plan's limits: API calls, team members, and data retention. Each meter shows what you've used, what your plan includes, and how close you are to the limit.

Where to find your meters

  1. 1.Open the dashboard and go to Account → Billing.
  2. 2.Find the Usage section near your current plan summary.
  3. 3.Each meter shows a progress bar with your current usage over your plan's included amount.

The Overview page shows a condensed version of these meters. Use the Billing page when you want the full breakdown and reset dates.

What each meter means

API calls

This is the total number of requests your account has sent through G8KEPR during the current billing period, including calls proxied through the gateway and analyzed by the security engines.

  • The meter resets at the start of each billing cycle.
  • Usage reflects all API keys and sensors across your account, not a single key.

Team members

This counts the active users who belong to your organization.

  • Pending invitations count toward your total once accepted.
  • Removing a member frees a seat immediately, so the meter updates as your team changes.

Data retention

This shows how long detection events, logs, and analytics history are stored before they age out.

  • Higher plans keep history for a longer window.
  • Once an event passes your retention window, it no longer appears in reports or exports.

When you approach a limit

  • The meter changes color as you near your included amount.
  • API calls and team members are the meters that can block new activity when full; retention simply trims older data.

If an API-call or team-member meter reaches 100%, new requests or invitations may be rejected until the next cycle or until you upgrade.

Increasing your limits

  1. 1.Review which meter is constraining you on the Billing page.
  2. 2.Select Change plan to compare included amounts across tiers.
  3. 3.Upgrade, or contact us if you need a custom allocation.

Overage handling is opt-in. If it's enabled for your account, API calls beyond your included amount are billed rather than blocked. See Managing your plan and billing for details.
